Deborah (or as we like to call her, Debbie) Hermance, Inn on Boltwood’s Director of Operations, has been on our team since the hotel reopened in 2012. Prior to joining the team at The Jeff, she worked extensively with a major hotel chain. During that time, Debbie worked in Florida, South Carolina, Texas, and Colorado. She is well versed in Rooms, Food, and Beverage operations. Her well-rounded background allows her to move seamlessly throughout the departments to provide oversight and support to the team.

How did you embark on a hospitality career?
My profound love for dining out, entertaining and travel led me to the University of Massachusetts Amherst hospitality program.
In this industry, it is not uncommon to explore different geographical areas. Which has been your favorite city and why?
Charleston, SC or St. Petersburg, FL for proximity to the beach, great food, and the sunny weather.
What is your recipe for success?
Stay focused on continuous improvement and attitude is as important as ability.
What advice would you give to aspiring hospitality professionals?
Life is unpredictable, so no matter what job you are doing or where you find yourself, give it 100% of your effort and good things will happen.
What is one thing people should know about you but don’t?
I have freakishly good aim.
