For many, the holidays are all about traditions; continuing with the old and building the new. Every year you look forward to these customs: particular recipes (Nana’s Broccoli Cheddar Casserole), tagging the tree Thanksgiving weekend, a particular bottle of champagne at New Year’s, or a 20-year board-game rivalry. After a busy year of hustle and bustle, we slow down to make time for family, eat comfort food, drink eggnog, and smile a little more.
Here at Inn on Boltwood, we have a long-standing tradition of celebrating well through the holidays. With live music, delicious foods, and a few seasonal surprises, we have a few of our favorite traditions to share.
These are a few of our favorite things…
Friday Live Holiday Jazz
Every dinner party has a playlist, and ours are no different. While Executive Chef Kevin Doubleday’s seasonal menu will fill your belly, our live music will feed your soul. Every Friday night in December, we’ll have live Jazz to entertain you, along with specialty craft cocktails and seasonal menu specials.

Gingerbread Lobby Display
From edible houses to candy-suited men, no confection symbolizes the holidays quite like the gingerbread. Every year our culinary team selects a notable Amherst building and creates a replica to sit on display in our Lobby. Miniature slate shingles, crown molding, stained glass windows, and tiny footprints in the snow set this annual work of art (and labor of love) apart from the wobbly four-walled, gumdrop studded masterpieces of our childhood.
Saturday Holiday Tea
The enduring tradition of afternoon tea, set in our cozy library, complete with a lit fireplace and classical harpist, is the perfect way to relax on a Saturday afternoon. Channel your inner Marie Antoinette, and indulge in a little Processco with your tea sandwiches and scones. Add cranberry juice and make it a poinsettia!
